The Center For Community Leadership is a unique partnership established in September, 1999 by the following seven area institiutions and organizations:

• Albright College
• Alvernia College
• Berks County Community Foundation
• Kutztown University
• Penn State Berks-Lehigh Valley College
• Reading Area Community College
• The United Way of Berks County

The mission of the Center for Community Leadership is to assist the nonprofit sector, (both public/governmental and private) in providing effective leadership for the efficient delivery of programs and services and for addressing current and future community and organizational issues. The objectives of the Center are to help local governments and private nonprofits:

• Improve the governance, management and leadership skills of both staff and board members
• Explore and implement joint ventures and other shared services
• Develop adequate financial resources to achieve current and future goals
• Enhance the general public's understanding of their operations
• Utilize the resources of the Center's partners provided through community service and service learning opportunities, and other forms of assistance
